Plantvoice is an innovative company offering a unique technology to monitor the health of plants in real time. Through the biochemical analysis of the sap and the correlation of these physiological data with data from contextual sensors, it provides precise data to prevent situations of water, nutritional and pathogen stress.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
General Informations
Plantvoice technology offers significant advantages: it improves agricultural yield and improves crop quality thanks to precise, constant monitoring that allows for optimizing plant care, reduces waste of resources such as water, fertilizers and pesticides, and promotes environmental sustainability by using biocompatible materials and reducing the ecological footprint of crops.
Technology
A smart graft is inserted into the plant stem and collects physiological data, such as salinity and sap flow. This data is sent to the cloud, where our AI algorithms analyze it to provide simple and immediate information to farmers. In addition, a configurator is available to help you quickly identify exactly what you need to install, based on the equipment you already have and your specific needs.
Stress data is in-depth information that identifies the main stress factors that affect plant health, such as water shortages, bacterial or fungal infections, or nutrient anomalies. This data helps to intervene promptly, improving the quality and yield of crops.
Yes, Plantvoice is a true agronomic platform and is therefore designed to integrate with other technological tools through an automatic software interface. This compatibility allows the data collected to be used together with information from weather, soil-moisture and irradiance sensors, and from drones or satellites, offering centralized and complete management of agricultural resources.
Yes, the data collected by the sensors is encrypted and stored securely on cloud servers, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Plantvoice stands out for its direct sap monitoring, a small (less than 2 mm) and biocompatible sensor. In practice, an internationally patented intelligent graft that has no equivalent among competing technologies, both in terms of ease of use and in terms of the type of monitoring offered. This “internal to the plant” approach allows for the detection of physiological anomalies in plants more quickly and accurately than traditional “external to the plant” methods.
Yes, Plantvoice holds international patents recognized in Europe, USA, China, Japan, Brazil, India, Israel, Australia, South Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Eurasia, Chile, Peru and Canada.
Absolutely, Plantvoice is compatible with ESG platforms such as ESGMax, facilitating the automated collection and analysis of data for the preparation of sustainability reports along the entire company supply chain.
Our modules are: Plantvoice Irrigation Management, for those who need monitoring more focused on the consequences and prevention of water stress, together with monitoring of the physiological state of the plant through the sap sensors; Plantvoice Pests Control, for those who need monitoring more focused on the consequences and prevention of pathogen stress caused by the presence of specific insects, together with monitoring of the physiological state of the plant through the sap sensors.
Application
Plantvoice is ideal for perennial stem crops, such as vineyards, orchards and olive groves. It is not suitable for herbaceous crops due to the size of the sensors.
Yes, we offer customized packages based on the type of crop and the specific needs of the farmers. This approach allows us to adapt the technology to a wide variety of crops, contexts and needs.
The Plantvoice platform can integrate data from sensors already installed in the field. Specifically, Plantvoice needs to be able to access the data via API in order to integrate it directly into the platform and process and display it in a uniform way. If you already have sensors, we will ask you for the model and the type of data in order to check whether they can be integrated into our platform.
For any questions, to give us feedback or for a constructive discussion, you can write to b.azzolina@plantvoice.farm, who handles all these requests and can forward them to the person at Plantvoice best placed to respond accurately.
Sustainability and environment
Plantvoice contributes to sustainability by significantly reducing the use of water in crops, with savings of up to 40% compared to traditional methods, thanks to the precise monitoring of the water needs of plants. The technology also promotes a reduction in the use of fertilizers and pesticides, thus limiting the environmental impact of agricultural practices. The sensors, designed with biocompatible materials, reflect Plantvoice’s commitment to creating innovative solutions that respect the environment and promote more sustainable agriculture.
Yes, Plantvoice is a minimally invasive (less than 2mm thick), biocompatible technology that monitors the health of plants without altering their natural physiology.
Yes, Plantvoice sensors are designed to operate in a wide range of climatic conditions, ensuring reliable performance even in situations of high thermal or water stress.
Support and Installation
The Plantvoice system is quick and easy to install. The sensors are inserted into the trunk of the sentinel plants through a small hole, which is then sealed with pruning putty to ensure protection and stability. The installation is designed to be minimally invasive and only occurs in plants with a trunk diameter greater than 1 cm. The Plantvoice team provides technical support and agronomic advice to identify the best positions, ensuring maximum effectiveness of the system.
Plantvoice offers complete support to its customers, ensuring continuous assistance to interpret the data collected and maximize the benefits of the technology. Intuitive dashboards allow you to immediately view and use the results, while personalized training helps farmers to make the most of all the system’s features, optimizing use based on specific needs.
Yes, the Plantvoice system is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. For example, our software does not require re-entering login credentials after each reboot, improving usability for farmers.
In case of malfunctions, Plantvoice offers a rapid technical assistance service for the replacement or repair of the sensor, minimizing any interruptions in monitoring. For any assistance needs, you can write to b.azzolina@plantvoice.farm.
Plantvoice sensors are designed to last for the entire growing season without maintenance. Made with biocompatible materials, the sensors can be easily removed at the end of the production cycle without impacting the environment or the plant. The sensors will need to be replaced in the next season. Their resistance and reliability guarantee continuous and effective monitoring throughout the period of use.
To allow installation, plants must have a woody trunk with a diameter greater than 1.5 cm. To ensure the statistical validity of the data collected by the sap probes, the probes must be installed on trees that are homogeneous in terms of variety, age and health condition. The probes (note that each node/control unit has 4 probes) are connected to the control unit by a cable with a maximum length of 50 m, so installations can be carried out within this range from the control unit.
You do not need a power or internet connection to use the control unit. The control unit is in fact equipped with four batteries that are also powered by a photovoltaic panel, ensuring power autonomy. Internet connectivity is provided by a pre-configured SIM card.
Installing all our modules is very easy, as all components arrive pre-configured. During installation, only a few easy-to-find tools are required (drill, ladder, cable ties, etc.). In any case, we provide a self-installation manual and send videos to best explain the installation process. Precisely because Plantvoice can be installed independently, the presence of our technicians is not required. That said, our technicians are available for a remote call during installation to provide all the support needed, if requested.
